Founded in 1513, the Joseph Mellot estate is one of the Loire Valley’s oldest winemaking families, with roots tracing back over five centuries. Established in the medieval town of Sancerre, the Mellot family has passed down its savoir-faire from generation to generation.

It was under the leadership of Alexandre Mellot in the late 20th century that the estate entered a new era of expansion and innovation. Now managed by Catherine Corbeau-Mellot, the estate remains family-owned, cultivating vineyards across all Central Loire appellations, with a strong commitment to sustainability and excellence.
